Pothole of Kobalar's Bug

All the pictures were taken on Saturday, 4th April 2026,
The pothole is a natural exceptionality, mainly because it was formed in hard marl (the upper part).
Location of the Entrance
The entrance is in a firebreak cut (forest road).
all of them are 800 x 600 pixels in size.

Marl is usually not a karst rock.

The First Picture of the Entrance
Samo climbs out.
The Second Picture of the Entrance
At the upper part of the entrance we see quite decomposed hard marl.
Hard Marl
Hard marl was discovered on the driveway to the hayfield above the entrance.
The marl is rapidly disintegrating on the surface.
Cross Section of the Flysch
Above the entrance is a beautiful cross-section of the flysch.
The pothole was formed in the Upper Paleocene flysch with interspersed limestone breccias and marls (Pc3),
between 59 and 56 millions years old.
Limestone Breccia
A good 50 m further from the pothole is a cross-section of limestone breccia.
Most of the pothole was formed in it.
Ajda Perne is "for measure".
A Calcite Vein
Calcite veins are deposited in numerous cracks in the breccia, also in the pothole. Ajda's hand is "for measure".
The Third Picture of the Entrance
They put a tree stump in the entrance to prevent anyone from falling into the pothole.
After research, we put the stump back in the entrance.
